On
August 11th, Radio Bolivariana WM officially starts
to broadcast, thanks to Monsignor FELX HENAO BOTERO
and the enthusiasm of several students who loved radio,
among them the first director JAIME SALAZAR MONTOYA.
Special Remark: Since the first day, the AM broadcast
started editing a programming bulleting. |

The
program is structured with new ideas and programs. Law
students are in charge of the cultural programs and
the Electrical Engineers are responsible for the technical
part. |
|
|
Radio
Bolivariana starts to collect successes: the former
students who started the station make part of big
enterprises and important media companies. Some of
them are BERNARDO HOYOS, IVO MEJIA, MIGUEL RESTREPO,
DAIRO CARDENAS, RAUL AGULAR, JAIME SALAZAR, ALBERTO
UPEGUI, JOSE LUIS RESTREPO, etc.

HUMBERTO
GARCÍA, a second year Law student, starts
working at the station, first as anchor, then programmer
and finally, director since 1972.
|

|
In
its Silver Anniversary, the program is extended
from 7 to 18 daily hours.
|
|
|
The
University decides to renew all the equipment.
A 10 Kw-powered equipment is bought, covering
almost all the Antioquenian region.
|

|
The
University applies and gets the license for the
establishment of a new educational station, for
the city of Medellín in F.M. in the 92.4
Mhz.
|
|
|
On
December 1st, The Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana
gives the city of Medellín and the surrounding
municipalities, the new RADIO BOLIVARIANA F.M. 92.4
Mhz , “The Highest Note.”

New
strategies for the program of the two broadcast
radio stations(W.M. and FM) are established:
RADIO BOLIVARIANA W.M. 1110 Khz. “SOCIAL – PARTICIPATIVE,”
which informs and forms about general aspects
related to health, community, religion, education,
family, etc. RADIO BOLIVARIANA F.M. 92.4 Mhz.
“CULTURAL RECREATIVE,” directed to businessmen,
executives, university students, cult and specialized
music lovers.
Digital audio and video equipment were bought,
this way, Radio Bolivariana becomes the first
to use radio production scheme with the DIGITAL
VIDEO CONCERT, broadcasted on Sundays and Holidays
through the regional TV channel, TELEANTIOQUIA,
and with a review in EL COLOMBIANO newspaper and
a simultaneous broadcasting through Radio Bolivariana
F.M.
